Charles W Eliot.
This is a picture of my grandson reading picture books, when he was around 8 months of age. He loved reading books with big bright pictures and especially those with photographs of faces and everyday items. I hope he keeps a life long love of reading.
Besides photograph books his favourite books were:
- WHERE is the GREEN SHEEP? by Mem Fox which uses whimsy and repetition and a sense of anticipation to keep interest in finding the elusive green sheep.
- Nana's Colours by Pamela Allen with it's large simple images and language.
- Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See? By Bill Martin with is large collaged animal shapes and simple, repetitive language.
