A picture is worth a thousand words*

Photo thanks to Mary Jo who is living and blogging this handmade life at Five Green Acres.

* The adage "A picture is worth a thousand words":  a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single still image: characterizes one of the main goals of visualization, namely making it possible to absorb large amounts of information quickly.

So what information is conveyed here?
The sandpit is unusual in both shape and materials. It is not your typical square or rectangular shaped sandpit. It is not made of long pieces of wood but slices of a tree trunk.
Different aged children are using the sandpit in different ways: the older child is manipulating the sand with their hands and the younger child is crawling on the tree trunk pieces.
