Put your money where your mouth is

All teachers know this quote: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." Pablo Picasso; but what are we actually doing to back it up?

Do you let children choose the art materials that they will experiment with?
Do you provide a wide variety of good quality art materials?
Are children given time to investigate the properties and possibilities of the art materials?

What else are you doing and what can we do to ensure a generation of people knowing that they are artists of all kinds and that their creativity was nutured?

My eldest is losing her artist mojo, I think all that copy and compare art they do at school can be bad for the soul. So much confidence in the little ones. sorry to hear the bug hit your place too.
